Lynnie and Paul, a classic car specialist, have been running the boutique establishment Higher Gitcombe since Easter.
After a refurbishment of the bedrooms last January, they thought the television appearance would be a good way to put the premises on the map as over One million viewers watch the show.
Lynnie said: ‘At first I had reservations about doing it as I didn’t want any nastiness between contestants. But the Director came down to interview us and test us on camera and said our edition would have a humorous angle and it certainly did’
Then came a call with a date to start filming, which took two solid weeks, every day, from early morning until late at night.
Filming took place over a fortnight in April this year and was tremendous fun with some very unexpected twists, we all got on really well and are still in touch with one another which is really nice.
During the programme, Lynnie and Paul visited Grade l stately home Anstey Hall in Cambridge, The’ Naturist’ Clover Hotel and Spa in Birmingham and The Angel Hotel in the Wye Valley.
The activity at Paul and Lynnies was Nordic Walking in the grounds with Harry Fenton a specialist fitness instructor from Dartmouth. An delicious organic supper was enjoyed at The Venus Café at Blackpool Sands.
The results show, which took from 8.30 am in the morning until 8.30 pm at night was filmed at nearby Dartmouth Golf and Country Club.
‘There were many memorable moments over the course of filming including a black tie dinner at the Anstey Hall and sitting in a hot tub at the naturist hotel’ said Lynnie.
Every establishment was so different that it really was to close to call who would win.
We are absolutely delighted to let you know that we won!
